Who could I be, and how does this help me?

A brief history:

​

Oscar Ichazo (1931–2020), a Bolivian teacher who began developing this personality identifier in the 1950s–60s through a program he called Protoanalysis, founded the Arica Institute to teach it and coining the term "Enneagram of Personality." Claudio Naranjo (1932–2019), a Chilean psychiatrist, studied under Ichazo starting in 1970 and then developed his own version, which he taught widely in the U.S. through the Esalen Institute and in Berkeley — this is largely how the system spread into pop psychology and later into Christian spiritual-formation circles. It picked up broader academic and public attention after the first International Enneagram Conference at Stanford in 1994.
